The Ainsworth Hot Springs feature a lounging pool (35C/96F) and a horseshoe shaped cave (42C/108F) with mineral waters originating from the Cody Caves. As the water from the Cody Caves flows down the rocks towards the pool and cave, its temperature increases at a rate of 40 degrees celsius per kilometre until it hits a lakeshore fault and hydraulic pressure pushes the water up the fault to the resort amenities. The high mineral content, odourless water, also known as The Spirit Waters (nupika wu’u), provide visitors with many benefits derived from a number of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, lithium, silica and iron. The hot water is infused with these minerals to make for a pleasantly relaxing soak.
